• “International Seminar on Mesozoic Mammals” Was Held in Beijing

  • From June 7 to 8, the “International Seminar on Mesozoic Mammals” supported by BJAST, Office of the National Paleontological 

    Fossil Expert Committee and Natural History Committee of Natural History of Chinese Association of Natural Science Museums, organized by Beijing Museum of Natural History of BJAST, the Institute of Vertebrate Paleontology and Paleoanthropology of CAS and undertook by Beijing Museum of Natural History was held in Beijing. More than 50 experts and scholars from the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, Russia and Russia, as well as Zhou Zhonghe, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Director of Institute of Vertebrate Paleontology and Paleoanthropology of CAS attended the seminar.

    President Guo Guangsheng pointed out in the opening speech that Beijing Museum of Natural History of BJAST has long been committed to the basic research, basic research for application and scientific communication of paleontology and has in-depth cooperation with domestic and foreign science popularization institutions. He hoped that the conference will contribute wisdom and ideas to paleontology research and provide scientific basis for the construction of the National Science and Technology Innovation Center.

    Zhou Zhonghe, Robert Lase and Wang Lixia, Deputy Director of Office of the National Paleontological Fossil Expert Committee delivered speeches respectively.

    “International Seminar on Mesozoic Mammals” started after the opening ceremony. At the same time, 11 museums and relevant institutions jointly held the special exhibition of “Mesozoic Mammals”.
